Solar panels & MPPTPV voltage exceeds the MPPT limit
The modeled open-circuit voltage of a PV string exceeds the connected controller's maximum PV input voltage.
Read guide: PV voltage exceeds the MPPT limit
Diagnostic codes
MPPT_PV_OVER_VOLTAGEWhy SolCircuit displays it
SolCircuit compares each string's calculated open-circuit voltage with the MPPT specification stored for the selected product version.
What to inspect
The panels in the affected string, their series connections, and the MPPT maximum PV open-circuit voltage.
What to review next
Review the selected specifications and modeled arrangement, then run the simulation again after any change. This check does not apply cold-weather corrections or electrical-code design margins; obtain professional review before installation.
Solar panels & MPPTPV current exceeds the MPPT limit
The modeled PV array short-circuit current exceeds the controller's maximum PV input-current rating.
Read guide: PV current exceeds the MPPT limit
Diagnostic codes
MPPT_PV_OVER_CURRENTWhy SolCircuit displays it
The engine compares aggregated array short-circuit current with the stored PV input-current limit, not the controller's battery-side charge-current rating.
What to inspect
The affected array's parallel strings and the MPPT PV input-current specification.
What to review next
Review the arrangement and exact product specifications before rerunning. The check does not include code multipliers or environmental adjustments and does not establish charging performance.
Solar panels & MPPTMixed panel characteristics
Panels in an array have different modeled electrical characteristics, or parallel strings have different maximum-power voltages.
Read guide: Mixed panel characteristics
Diagnostic codes
PV_PANEL_MISMATCHWhy SolCircuit displays it
The engine compares rated power, voltage and current characteristics and string maximum-power voltages. Differences are advisory; different product names alone do not trigger this warning.
What to inspect
The selected panel specifications and the series or parallel arrangement within the affected array.
What to review next
Review the approximation shown in Results: series voltages add with limiting current, while parallel currents add. Unequal branch voltages have no single modeled operating voltage. No full current-voltage curves, shading, bypass diodes or mismatch-loss percentage is modeled. Warning-only, complete evaluations can be Yellow; independent electrical errors still take priority.
Solar panels & MPPTPV wiring cannot be fully evaluated
SolCircuit cannot resolve a supported PV arrangement to a single MPPT input, or a panel is not connected to an MPPT.
Read guide: PV wiring cannot be fully evaluated
Diagnostic codes
PV_TOPOLOGY_AMBIGUOUSPV_PANEL_NOT_CONNECTED_TO_MPPTPV_ARRAY_MULTIPLE_MPPT_TARGETSWhy SolCircuit displays it
PV calculations need a resolved connection path. Ambiguous paths and an array reaching multiple controllers cannot be treated as a successful check.
What to inspect
The affected panels, both connection paths, and the MPPT PV input terminals.
What to review next
Review missing or conflicting connections in the modeled graph. Rerun after correcting the arrangement; an unavailable result is not a compatibility pass.
Connections & wiringA direct connection has reversed polarity
An otherwise supported direct DC connection joins opposite polarities where they are not allowed.
Read guide: A direct connection has reversed polarity
Diagnostic codes
REVERSED_POLARITYWhy SolCircuit displays it
The terminal check detects positive-to-negative polarity on supported DC relationships. The supported panel-to-panel series connection is an explicit exception.
What to inspect
The positive and negative terminal labels on the highlighted connection and the component roles at each end.
What to review next
Review the intended modeled connection before changing it. Do not assume every positive-to-negative panel series link is an error. This guide is not an instruction to rewire live equipment.
Connections & wiringThe connected terminals are incompatible
A direct link joins terminal roles or electrical domains that the simulator does not support together.
Read guide: The connected terminals are incompatible
Diagnostic codes
INCOMPATIBLE_TERMINAL_ROLESELECTRICAL_DOMAIN_MISMATCHWhy SolCircuit displays it
The runtime checks the terminal domain first, then its supported role relationship. A connector being visible does not mean any other connector is compatible with it.
What to inspect
The terminal labels and component categories on both ends, including PV inputs, battery connections, inverter inputs and AC load connections.
What to review next
Review the intended connection against the available terminal roles. Correct the modeled connection and rerun rather than treating the link as a valid power path.
Connections & wiringThe project connection structure is invalid
The project contains a missing endpoint, duplicate identity or connection, a terminal ownership mismatch, or a terminal connected to itself.
Read guide: The project connection structure is invalid
Diagnostic codes
DUPLICATE_COMPONENT_IDDUPLICATE_TERMINAL_IDDUPLICATE_CONNECTION_IDTERMINAL_OWNER_MISMATCHCONNECTION_TERMINAL_NOT_FOUNDSELF_CONNECTIONDUPLICATE_CONNECTIONWhy SolCircuit displays it
The structural gate checks graph integrity before electrical evaluation. It blocks simulation instead of calculating from an invalid structure.
What to inspect
The connection or component identified by Results, particularly missing endpoints and repeated links.
What to review next
Review affected items in Builder. If the structure cannot be corrected using normal editing, use the existing support path with the displayed code; do not manually alter stored project identifiers.
Batteries & invertersBattery voltage is not supported by the MPPT
The battery's modeled nominal voltage is not in the connected MPPT's supported battery-system voltage list.
Read guide: Battery voltage is not supported by the MPPT
Diagnostic codes
MPPT_BATTERY_VOLTAGE_UNSUPPORTEDWhy SolCircuit displays it
The check uses exact membership in the stored supported-voltage list.
What to inspect
The selected battery nominal voltage, MPPT supported battery voltages, and the connection between them.
What to review next
Verify the chosen product versions and their manufacturer documentation. This check does not evaluate battery chemistry, charging profiles or battery banks.
Batteries & invertersBattery voltage does not match the inverter
The connected battery and inverter do not have the same modeled nominal DC voltage.
Read guide: Battery voltage does not match the inverter
Diagnostic codes
BATTERY_INVERTER_VOLTAGE_UNSUPPORTEDWhy SolCircuit displays it
The engine compares their stored nominal voltages by exact equality, without inventing a tolerance or battery-bank model.
What to inspect
The battery nominal voltage, inverter nominal DC input voltage, and the affected DC connection.
What to review next
Review the exact specifications and modeled pairing, then rerun any changed configuration. Matching nominal voltage alone does not establish installation safety.
Appliances & loadsInverter continuous load is exceeded
The connected operating load exceeds the inverter's modeled continuous output-power rating.
Read guide: Inverter continuous load is exceeded
Diagnostic codes
INVERTER_CONTINUOUS_OVERLOADWhy SolCircuit displays it
The engine compares the connected operating-power total, including applicable load quantities and overrides, with the stored inverter rating.
What to inspect
The connected appliances, quantities, operating-power overrides and inverter continuous output specification.
What to review next
Review whether the modeled loads and specifications represent the intended configuration. Update incorrect inputs and rerun; the model does not infer real-world usage schedules.
Appliances & loadsInverter surge load is exceeded
The connected potential surge load exceeds the inverter's modeled surge output-power rating.
Read guide: Inverter surge load is exceeded
Diagnostic codes
INVERTER_SURGE_OVERLOADWhy SolCircuit displays it
The engine compares the modeled potential surge total with the selected inverter's stored surge rating.
What to inspect
Appliance surge specifications or overrides, quantities, and the inverter surge output rating.
What to review next
Review the modeled load inputs and rerun after changes. The check does not model startup timing, surge duration or load diversity.
Batteries & invertersBattery discharge-current capability is exceeded
The modeled continuous DC current demanded by the inverter exceeds the connected battery's continuous discharge-current rating.
Read guide: Battery discharge-current capability is exceeded
Diagnostic codes
BATTERY_CONTINUOUS_DISCHARGE_OVER_CURRENTWhy SolCircuit displays it
The engine uses connected operating load, inverter efficiency and nominal DC voltage to obtain the current demand for this comparison.
What to inspect
The connected loads, inverter specifications and battery maximum continuous discharge-current specification.
What to review next
Verify the modeled configuration and stored specifications, then rerun changes. This is not a surge-current, BMS-trip, cable-sizing or fuse-sizing check.
Connections & wiringA battery or load path is ambiguous
The engine cannot resolve a supported relationship for the affected battery, controller, inverter or load check.
Read guide: A battery or load path is ambiguous
Diagnostic codes
MPPT_BATTERY_TOPOLOGY_AMBIGUOUSBATTERY_INVERTER_TOPOLOGY_AMBIGUOUSLOAD_INVERTER_TOPOLOGY_AMBIGUOUSBATTERY_DISCHARGE_CURRENT_TOPOLOGY_AMBIGUOUSWhy SolCircuit displays it
These checks need supported, unambiguous connection paths. Missing or competing paths cannot be replaced with guessed relationships.
What to inspect
The components identified by the diagnostic and their complete connection paths.
What to review next
Review the modeled links and supported arrangement. Do not interpret a skipped or unavailable check as evidence that those components are compatible.
Simulation resultsA required specification is missing or invalid
An affected calculation lacks a usable input. This is an evaluation limitation, not automatically an electrical incompatibility.
Read guide: A required specification is missing or invalid
Diagnostic codes

Individual checks reject missing, non-finite or otherwise invalid values according to their own input rules. Battery runtime also needs usable capacity or energy information.
What to inspect
The component and input named by the diagnostic, including appliance overrides or battery capacity information where relevant.
What to review next
Correct an invalid editable input using verified information. For a stored product-specification problem, report the product and diagnostic through support. Do not invent a value to make the check pass.
Simulation resultsBlocked, partial or unavailable results
A blocked simulation cannot pass the structural gate. A partial run has an incomplete component chain or unresolved applicable evaluation. Compatibility may be unavailable when required checks cannot finish.
Read guide: Blocked, partial or unavailable results
Why SolCircuit displays it
The engine keeps evaluation completeness separate from electrical compatibility. Known electrical errors can still produce Red even when other checks are incomplete.
What to inspect
The current Results diagnostics and the affected component or connection paths.
What to review next
Resolve the reported issues and rerun. Green means compatible only within modeled checks and stored specifications; Yellow means a complete evaluable result with warnings and no errors; Red means an electrical error was found. None of these states certifies a physical installation.
Simulation resultsResults are stale or have not been run
Results belong to the project revision that was simulated. Electrical edits can make a previous result stale; a new project may have no result yet.
Read guide: Results are stale or have not been run
Why SolCircuit displays it
Builder tracks the simulation revision separately from the current project revision and does not silently rerun the full simulation for every edit.
What to inspect
The current Results status and the changes made since the last simulation.
What to review next
Run the simulation for the current configuration before relying on the displayed result. A previous Green result does not establish compatibility for an edited configuration.
